Recycling & Green Policy

FACT:
1/3 of the energy used in buildings is wasted through poor management alone!

Tameside Oldham and Glossop Mind is committed to environmental issues and as an organisation has adopted a comprehensive and accountable policy to help combat climate change.

Having signed up to the third sector declaration on climate change we at Topaz will make every effort to be a responsible and green centre.
We will implement measures to help our world's environment by making Tameside Oldham and Glossop Mind a planet friendly place to work & visit.

• The work has involved gathering information, informing staff and implementing new procedures

• All the work was directed by the staff's agreed priorities and with everyone's involvement and feedback,

The implemented policy will hopefully enable us to aim for these savings

• Reducing at least 25% of water usage
• Reducing at least 25% of Electricity usage
• Reducing at least 25% of photocopying costs
• Reducing at least 10% of catering costs
• Reduce travel

The staff team and volunteers will recycle:

• Paper
• Envelopes
• Glass
• Tin cans
• Cardboard
• Plastic
• Plastic Bottles
• Kitchen Waste

The savings will not be apparent for six to twelve months and in the longer term the impact on the environment of the planet will have been sustained through knowledge that is disseminated through families and friends of staff and volunteers

Please donate you old mobile phones to Topaz. It doesn't matter the condition of the phone, how old it is or whether it works or not.
All the phones we get can be converted to money for the charity.
